Hi there,
I'm trying to understand how the portal and portal_service modules are to be
used.
I've installed 5.0.0 (from most recent launchpad sources, cloned a few hours
ago), along with the web client. I've installed a test database, for a service
company, with the demo data.
I then install portal and portal_service from trunk-extras-addon. At this
point, I can logout, and log back in as "portal", though clicking "Your
Projects" results in an indefinite "Loading" message within the content area.
Support seems to work, though there are no cases to view.
On to the more important questions:
1) Assuming you have more than one customer who will access the portal, I
assume you must create a portal for each customer within
Portal/Configuration/Portals
2) What is the "company" value supposed to be? In the demo data, it is "Tiny
sprl" for "Portal Customer". I'm not sure I understand this relation.
3) Assume I am the ACME company, and I have customers ("Alpha", "Bravo"). Now,
assume that those companies open support cases with my company, and I want to
expose those cases to them via this portal. But, I don't want Alpha portal
users to see data related to Bravo. How exactly is this accomplished via the
portal module?
Sorry for the basic questions, I just figured I'd ask and see if anyone can
offer for the assistance. There doesn't seem to be much documentation relating
to the portal available.
