I cannot believe that: 

Python2.6, purposedly, is just a transitional release between 2.5 and 3.0. This 
means, it is python 2.6 that should have those messages and introduce the 'as' 
keyword, the 'with' modifications and anything that is about to change in 3.0. 
I cannot see any reason to backport this into 2.5.

(otherwise, check your distro, there must be something weird there)
