Thank you I prefere bzr :-)
I read a lot and installed bzr and so on. It is not a so easy way if you are not good enough with the use of unix. And so, I complain because I think that it is not enough easy for the one who want to test before wanting to spend money to implement really the soft. I explaine my advice about how an open source software can have success (commercial success) : 1- There is no false message. 2- it is easy enough to install and test on all platform. 3- it is easy enough to make simple things with existing real datas. After that, we need formations and maintenance services, as for all software. What I find with OpenERP 1- It is write that the program is for Linux, Windows, and Mac. It's right but it is not the same difficulty between platform, and it is not so easy to find ressources for Mac. 2- I did not try to install it on Mac, cause it was less difficult to install it on Ubuntu. And It needs lot of dependencies and things that are not accessible to John Doe. In fact it's simple enough only on Windows. 3- There is very good documentations (in French and in English) but it's very poor about importing datas. Even in the french book. Well, we know how to import contacts (but it's difficult), we can imagine with this example how to import accountancy, but the imagination is not reallity. I hope you understand that I am not against the developpers and consultants world. I think that there is a stage between having the idea to use OpenERP and the moment where you pay a consulting service. For this stage, at the moment when I write, user needs to be a technician, not a final user. And I am sorry to say that, but I have the experience to affirm that if the final user can't test it (when I say that I think about the decider of a little company), He do not buy it. ------------------------ COPAGEX - NANTES http://www.copagex.fr -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35438#35438 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman/listinfo/tinyerp-users
