Hi, We are planning on starting an alcoholic beverage import company based in Chicago.
We have been fooling around with OpenERP for quite some time now and would like to ask a few questions: 1 : in the product creation screen, under the pricing tab, we can set up a cost. Considering that we buy some cognacs from France (using EUROS) and sell them in the USA (in DOLLARS), what amount should i put in this field? The EUR one or the USD one? I have not seen anywhere a place to specify the currency. (on the product page) Meanwhile, I saw we could specify the currency under the PriceLists category. 2 : considering a wine is made out of one or more variety of grape, and its price and quality varying with the year (vintage), how can we add this data onto our product? Should we just create the product giving it a name which also contains the vintage, or can we create instances of a product, adding extra fields such as vintage and composition? Is there a way to add a picture of a product such as a label ? (we tried openbravo and it is possible to do so there) 3 : about the USA taxing system. I saw some modules available (l10n_something) but many are for the USA (or so they claim to be) Is there one more elaborated than the other? What about state level taxation?
