OK, an update on my openSUSE 10.3 box. I've got it working at 5.0.3 by manually installing the RPMs for anything not in YAST, and manually installing the source for anything not available as an RPM.
OpenERP then worked first time. I think that's a pretty damning indictment of just how poor the OpenERP documentation is. It was easier to get it working on a platform that is not covered by the documentation, than it was for a platform that IS covered by the documentation. Come on guys. This is a brilliant project. The only thing that prevents me from recommending it to everybody is the poor documentation. I'll try using the bazaar method on Kubuntu next to see if that works any better. One of the problems I encountered on openSUSE is that I couldn't find a version of Hippocanvas that would install for the openerp client, so it's not installed. What impact will this have? What uses it that will no longer work?
