I don't know how hard or easy it is with GTK but with Qt (and thus Koo [1]) 
it's damn easy to create your very own stylesheet [2]. You can take a look at 
[3] for a reference of all the possibilities provided by Qt stylesheets. With 
Koo there's also a nan.qss that can be used to give it a try (koo --
stylesheet=nan.qss).
