Basically you need to know your external IP address (IP on your router which is assigned by your Internet Access Provider). Most likely this address is dynamic type what means that is different each time your router connect to the internet, or every 24 h when your provider automatically resets all connections. So in order to solve this problem you will need to activate Dynamic DNS service. There are a number of companies offering this service. You can find their names in your router where several client's applications neccesseary for this service to work, are already installed. You will need an account at one of those companies first. Then you can set your router to use DDNS.
If you wish just to check how OpenERP works remotely do this: - Set your router Internet setting at "Always on", - Open port 8080 (optionaly 8070 and 443) at your router firewall and route them to your local server IP (machine which runs OpenERP) - Write down your temporarly WAN address at that moment. - Go out to your neighbourg e.g., and connect to your home server using your-wan-address:port trough web browser. Happy ERPeing while your IP is unchanged. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=46630#46630 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman2/listinfo/tinyerp-users
