I think it's better to use the mail-gateway. That's what we do at Tiny, all applicants send email to [email protected], they are automatically inserted to the HR - Recruitements and you have CV's and Letters in attachment.
If you install the document module, you also have automated indexation of all documents and you can search on the content of each CV.
