I've run into this problem as well. On a stock install of OpenERP 5.0.10 using the Accounting profile plus the bookstore module and all its dependencies. When trying to add a new author via Books -> Authors -> New Author, the error message "No action defined" is returned.
The same error appears when clicking any of the new options in the Books/Products menu. This does not affect Books -> Products or Books -> Configuration -> Intrastat Reports, for example. I'm not entirely certain of the mechanism, but it appears that the dispatch code for the new items is not configured correctly.
