Thanks Omar, I will have a look at pxgo_openoffice_report. I am struggling with Kaspars report module as I am battling to get relatorio installed.
For Financial Statements I was hoping to develop a module where one can define columns (e.g. current year, prior year, variance, budget etc.) and rows (account categories). Current financial statement in OpenERP doesn't support multiple columns. This way we can design the financial report and at the end all what is needed is to generate the information into excel based on format specified in the module. User can specify different values for parameters etc. e.g. financial period, which budget to user etc. etc. Getting columns, rows, values should be no problem (haven't researched but should be ok), before that I wanted to make sure I can create an excel file and than prompt the user to open/save it.
