I'm using a MTS310 sensorboard with a Honeywell HMC1002 magnetometer. I am trying to figure out the accuracy and capabilities of the magnetometer but I am getting some possible awkward readings. I believe I wired and implemented everything correctly after looking at sample xbow code from XMTS300 test code. The problem is when monitoring the data, I get measurements primarily consisting change in data on 1 axis at a time. For example, if I get a reading of 27 or 28 starting on both X and Y axes and rotate a magnet around the magnetometer and I get X=28 & Y=115 or X=115 & Y=28.
I rarely get variable measurements for both axis let alone measurements between 115 or 28 even though I move the magnet I different positions from the magnetometer. If any one has any insight on any of this please let me know. Thanks.
