I have sent this questrion before but received a very unhelpful answer
so i am sending again with more detailed questions in the hope that I
can get some meaningful feedback!

Once again, RT-"Fine"-M and your question was pretty much covered in the
tutorial and the mailing-list archives.
Here's a potentially helpful pointer - try "hardwiring" the parent id in
your code when sending data from daughter motes to parent motes. You could
also look into limiting the range of the radio on your mote by looking at
the CC1000 group of files if you're on a mica2 or the cc2420 for micaz.
Again, a simple google search will help you. GIYF.

I have attached a picture to explain what I'm asking!
1. I have two motes that are collecting data and I'm currently sending
them straight to a mote connected to the PC. Is it possible to first
send them to a, for want of a better word, 'parent' mote which
collects data from two particular motes and only these two motes?
2. I then want to foward this 'locally' collected data to my mote that
is connected to the PC which may have other parent motes sending data
to it. Is this possible?
I have read all the bumpf on Surge and multihopping etc. but I'm still
at a loss as to how I would actually use this to implement the local
collection of data that I'm looking for!
Thanks in advance
Colin
