Hi Chui,

I have never seen the particular error you've gotten. I have trouble
even guessing what the cause to solution may be. It could be a
permissions problem – try running chmod –R a+rwx /opt/msp430. About
the only other thing I can think of is that perhaps your Cygwin is old
and needs to be upgraded -- run Cygwin's setup.exe and upgrade all of
your current packages. If none of those work, you will need to
uninstall all things TinyOS and start from a clean slate.

Best,
Cory

Hi
I am using cygwin on my windows laptop. I have been having problem
installing msp430tools-binutils. When I run

"rpm -ivh --force --ignoreos
msp430tools-binutils-2.16-20050607.cygwin.i386.rpm"

I get an error saying that
"msp430-strip.exe;44b2945h: cpio link- No such file or directory"

This happened the last time I upgraded from tinyos 1.0 to 1.5, but I managed
to fix that by installing another package
mspgcc-win32tinyos-20041204-1.cygwin.i386.rpm instead.
Now I reinstalled everything, tinyos, cygwin, using the tmote provided
installer, and the same rpm does not install anymore. The provided installer
does not allow me to compile programs, stating there is some problem with
msp430x1611 architecture, so I am trying to manually install the rpm.

Any ideas?

Thanks

chiu
