Hi all,

I ran MicaSBTest1 in the folder MicaSBVerify to verify the HMC1002
magnetometer on MTS 310CA sensor board. The sensor was placed on my
desk without strong magnetic field around it. After switching my Mica2
node on, the red LED which indicates the node being self calibrated
kept blinking. Swaying a magnet about the sensor didn't make the
yellow LED blink or light up. It seems that the node was trying to
calibrate itself, but in vain. The firmware source code comes from the
latest tinyos.cvs.sf.net tinyos-1.x branch.

I also tested all 5 MTS310 sensor boards we bought with gain setting
from 0 to 255, only to find that the output value of the magnetometer
refused to change in response to adjustment of gain setting. The
reading value from Mag.MagX and Mag.MagY typically vibrates between 60
and 80. Swaying a magnet about the sensor didn't help too. But the
output value is supposed to approach 512 if the gain setting is fine
tuned.

Did I overlooked something?

Thanks

Kov Chai
