I'm having trouble getting FTDI to work properly with Telos motes
under Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger). I installed the usbserial and
ftdi_sio kernel modules that came with the distribution, and the
system logs support for FT232BM Compatible serial devices. But when I
plug in a Telos, the USB system just recognizes it as a full speed
USB device; it does not recognize it as an FT232BM and therefore
doesn't create a /dev/ttyUSB entry. I checked the TinyOS Ubuntu
install guide and didn't find any mention of this. Has anyone else
encountered this problem before, and if so, what was your solution?
I'm wary of trying to recompile kernel modules or assign /dev entries
if there's a simple solution...
