That would be sufficient
The issue is that the simple path loss models don't really reflect
what motes observe. There are hardware variations, uneven
propagation, receiver/transmitter calibration issues, etc. One of the
important observations of all of the RSSI-based localization work has
been that RSSI is *not* as regular as you'd like, and this is where
all of the challenges come from.
