I was using a wrong method to calculate accuracy.
After correcting my method, I find that the time sync accuracy with FTSP is
indeed of the order of 2-4 clock ticks on Tmote. I used just two nodes
in the experiment.

in which they report similar error. You might want to read that paper
if you are trying to use FTSP on Tmotes because the paper talks about
different techniques they used to get FTSP to work well.
