You're forgetting that MIB510 outputs AM packets by default, not ASCII
data. You should write some code to extract the data bytes and output
raw ASCII (modify TosBase or whatever you have running on the base).

Subject: [Tinyos-help] mib510 and radio modem
Hi, All:
I am trying to let a mica2 base station forward data to a radio modem
directly (not through a computer), but have no luck. The base station
mote uses mib510 programming board and the radio modem is Elpro 905U-D,
they are connected using a serial cable and a "gender changer" (because
both of them are of female ends). The radio modem is set at 57600
Baudrate, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, 0 parity and no flow control. I
assume that is the same setting for mib510. Please let me know if this
is wrong.
The radio modem works fine. Two radio modems can forward messages
between two laptops using cutecom. The mib510 works fine too, the base
station can collect data and forward to the laptop that it connects to.
However, when I connect the mib510 to the radio modem directly using
a serial cable, they are NOT communicating. The base station is still
collecting data (the lights are on), but the radio modem is not getting
any. The flash lights of the radio modem isn't flashing at all.
Wondering if anybody else in this mailing lise has done something
similar, please let me know if you can see anything I have missed or
mistaken. Thanks in advance!
cheers,
--ken
