Hello,

I'm using TinyOS 2.0 on TOSSIM micaz and I'm trying to use the CC2420Packet Interface to read the rssi value from my received packets. Since this interface was not provided by the ActiveMessageC wrapper for the micaz platform, I added the interface and wiring to the ActiveMessageC.nc configuration file in /tos/platforms/micaz/ directory like this:

2 things:

1) TOSSIM replaces the packet layer. Look in lib/tossim/.

2) TOSSIM does not support getting RSSI readings.

Basically, although the underlying model in 2.0 is RSSI based, there isn't yet a good data set for me to build an interference model from. USC has a very nice paper in the upcoming SenSys about the mica2, and I used their data to populate the model in TOSSIM. So right now it's a bit confused, in that it has CC2420 timing but CC1000 RF. I hope to remedy that in the next few months, but it will not make it into the upcoming release. I figure that having a solid and complete mote TinyOS is a necessary precondition to adding functionality into TOSSIM (last thing I want is for the two to fork).
