The Makerules file adds LIBS = -lm to the compile line
which pulls in a standard math lib, which should have a sqrt().
Since the current controllers have no FP hardware it is all done
in software and is not as fast as one would want.
To my knowledge floats are standard 4 byte IEEE entities.
