Hi, You could also try installing surge_reliable. If you get hold of mote view, then it will take care of some of the visualisation for you, and you get the added bonus of seeing the light sensor data (and a few others).
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'calculate' the temperature. There will be some scaling/correcting required on the raw sensor data to get to Kelvin/Celsius etc. these scaling factors can be found in the mote user guides. If you want to do more complicated things like calculate an estimate of the temperature at a position between the sensors based upon their readings, then you are probably best googling for 'data fusion' or such like.
