Oh, now I see...my doc/tutorial -- T1 -- directories only
go up to lesson8.html...silly me. What'd I miss in lesson9 too?
Does the advice below apply to T1 as well?

There are two parts. The first is the default TinyOS part. This is in
the TinyOS script ncc. E.g., tos/system, tos/interfaces.
The second is defined in a platform's .platform file, which ncc loads.
E.g. tos/chips/atm128.
Lesson 10 of the tutorials goes into the .platform file a little bit.
