Same problem here, and the answer to the questions are:
1) The CVS tree, is like a week old. ( More on this later ).
2) The debugging revealed a segmentation fault to NULL pointer,
caused by a
undefined function symbol.
This is all the information I can give at the present time as I
don't have it
here at the moment.
As a final though, I suspect that the make system isn't compiling
and linking to the
shared library, the functions that are defined in sim_*, radio.c,
packet.c, etc...
This sounds like a different problem than what people encountered
before. The issue is that I can't reproduce the problem, and so
can't solve it by myself.

So for you, the interface to python of the TOSSIM in TinyOS 2.x,
doesn't segfault after a command to boot a mote or set a radio link ?
Correct. Otherwise it would have been hard to write the tutorials!
Can the problem be with the make system, of gcc ?
It could be, yes.
