Are you asking that whether transmission range and receiving range are
same/different?

If yes, then transmission range is actually also dependent on the
receiver antenna sensitivity, Similarly receiving range is dependent
on transmitting radio power. So the terms "transmission range" and
"receiving range" holds no meaning in the absence of "sensitivity of
receiver" and "power of transmitter", respectively.

In crossbow motes, you cannot change the receiver sensitivity. However
transmission power can be changed. In a typical open environment,
operating at maximum power, crossbow micaz motes can "send and
receive" at a mutual distance of 30 meters.

Were you really asking this or something else?

Hi Nagaraj,

If by separate range you mean wether it is possible to change the range
of the radio link: yes, you can dynamically change the TX power of the
radio. If you are using TinyOS-2.x, have a look at the setPower()
function defined for the CC2420Packet interface.

Cheers,
Urs
