Thanks Kurt, Phil and Barry, It seems that measuring power is a better idea and then to compare it with what we see theoretically. Till we don't see a large difference between them things will be OK.
I have gone through the Datasheet and the current drawn for the IDLE mode is given to be 2.5 mA. Also, written is the fact that the MCU only halts the CPU Clock and the Flash Clock while keeping others SPI, USART, ADC, etc. running when it enters the IDLE mode. Most part of the time I keep the radio in Low Power Listen state which implies that the radio wakes up for a very small duration to check the modulation in the channel. Now does the MCU goes into the Full Active mode where it consumes 5.5 mA or it goes into the IDLE mode where the current drawn is 2.5 mA when the radio wakes up to sense the channel (provided there are no other tasks in the queue and all other components are inactive). P.S. I am using TOS2 and MicaZ(Atmel128L, cc2420). Regards -- Mayur Maheshwari([EMAIL PROTECTED]) "Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana, Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani"
