The problem is that I'm on a Mac. I can't seem to find any precompiled Mac
versions available. I've seen success reported in compiling it, but being a
newbie, I don't know where to start. I've followed several different sets
of instructions as to how to install it, but they all ended up giving out on
me (usually because a website accessed through cvs was no longer in
service). Does anybody know of a good set of instructions for installing
TinyOS (and just as importantly, nesc and ncc) on a Mac, configured to
compile to Mica?

Thanks,

Hi

Thats quite a lot of problems. Assuming that you are a newbie and
dont't have much experience in tinyOS, I would recommend you to
uninstall all your tinyos+cygwin+java and then reinstall it back. I
think that would take lesser time as compared to reinstalling
individual softwares.

There is a complete package available at tinyos website (for windows).

Please remember to make a backup of all your programs etc. before
uninstalling.

Okay, after running the diagnostics:
First, CLASSPATH doesn't exist. I'm not sure what that should be. I know
it's the location of java classes, but I don't know which ones specifically.
I can find them if somebody knows examples of ones to search for.

Second, my version of nesc is 1.2alpha5, and should be 1.1. Do I need to
move back to the older version?

Third, my avr-gcc is 3.4.3. Do I need to roll back to 3.3-tinyos?

Fourth, my java version is 1.5, of course not 1.4. Surely I don't need to
roll that back?

Fifth: My version of uisp is 20040311, not 20030820tinyos. Do I need to
roll back?

I'm not concerned about graphviz.

Avr-as is version 2.15, not 2.13.2.1

Avarice is version 2.6, not 2.0.20030806cvs

Avr-gdb is GNU gdb 6.0, not cvs-pre6.0-tinyos. Do I need to roll that back?

I don't have msp430-gcc installed, but I'm not compiling for telos. Do I
need it if I'm just compiling for mica?

Sorry for all the questions, but I really want to get started
developing...compiling all these sources is rough on a newbie not used to
make files.

Thanks,
Greg Turnipseed
