There are some at commands you should try, like:
AT+COPS=?
which shows available operators and selection modes
AT^SOPS=?
gives you the registration status of the tc65.

Hey all,
So, we're working on a tinyos project using Shockfish's Tinynodes, and
are trying to get a Mamaboard set up to run our TOSBase application
on. This involves using a Siemens TC65 quad band modem for an internet
connection. We're having some problems getting an internet connection
up and running, and the question came up as to whether the TC65 might
just default to using European carrier bands, rather than detecting
based on the SIM card in use what frequency to communicate on.
Does anyone have much experience with the TC65? Is there some flag
someplace that needs to be toggled to get the modem to communicate on
the US cellular network?
