Hi all,

As I was debugging through the Deluge 1.0 code, I found
that the problem of node being unresponsive happens once the
advertisement message is sent by the mote to the TOS_UART_ADDR and if
the mote attempts to send the advertisement message to the
TOS_UART_ADDR again. The node can send request and data packets many
times without problem. Also there is no problem if the node sends the
advertisment packet to the radio. But when the node tries to send the
advertisment packet to the UART after it has done that once, then the
problem kicks in.

Also I found that if I ping the node once,
it works fine. If I ping it second time (then it is trying to send
advertisment packet to UART second time), then I dont get any reply.
But strange thing is if I let the ping command go on pinging, after
exactly 113 pings, I get the reply. Yes exactly after 113 pings (I did
for 10 times and all the time, the ping replies after 113 th ping). I
am lost here. I have been using Deluge 1.0 on tinyos 1.1.10 on mica2
motes without any problem. Why is this problem with micaz?

Waiting for the reply...
John

John,

I had similar issues. I am 100% sure that
the latest version of Deluge in the SourceFoge CVS does not work with micaz.
You might want to grab tinyos-1.x/tos/lib/Deluge as of July 23, 2005, that
worked for me.

Don’t worry about the warnings you’re
getting: it should work, though it’s not a clean enough implementation.

1.0 on micaz

Also I
get the follwing warning messages when I compile Deluge for micaz (I dont get
these warnings when I compile for mica2 platform. Is the problem because of
these warnigns?)

cygwin/opt/tinyos-1.x/tos/platform/micaz/HPLCC2420InterruptM.nc

161: warning: `CCATimer.start' called asynchronously from `CCA.startWait'

cygwin/opt/tinyos-1.x/tos/lib/CC2420Radio/CC2420RadioM.nc:115:

warning: `Send.sendDone' called asynchronously from `sendFailed'

Thanks,

John

Subject: Deluge 1.0 on micaz

Dear all,

I have been using Deluge 1.0 on mica2 motes for sometime now. Now I need to run
it on micaz motes. I can compile and install Deluge on the micaz. Then if I
ping it, it works fine for the first time. If I ping it again, the mote does
not respond. After that I cannot inject image to the mote, I cannot send the
reboot command. Basically the mote does not respond to anything after the first
ping command. If I again intstall Deluge and do not use ping command , I
can inject all the pages to the mote except the last page. When it is uploading
the last page, it just stops there. Then if I kill the process by Ctr-C, I
cannot ping the node, I cannot inject image, I cannot do anything.

I am confused. I have been successfully using Deluge 1.0 on mica2 though.

I am using Deluge 1.0 and tinyos 1.1..10.

Thanks,

John
