I explain the process, maybe help to someone: I use MSP430-P1611 and MSP430-JTAG from olimex. i downoladed and install mspgcc. In cygwin i build Blink aplication for tmote sky (make telosb). When the process finish appear a file with the name main.ihex in the build/telosb folder. Later i conncected JTAG connector with parallel port and the board with powe supply. Finally open msdos, i go to the folder of the file main.ihex and type: msp430-jtag -m main.ihex and i can see in the oscilloscope the pins of leds that use tmote sky (P5.4, P5.5 and P5.6) what the signal change. I not tried programming tmote sky with JTAG-Parallel wire, but i think that connect the lines TDO, TDI, TMS, TCK and GND of JTAG connector of tmote sky with the sames lines in JTAG adapter of olimex, programm tmote is possible. There is an application note on the moteiv web site explaining how to do this. They sell an adapter that connects the board to a standard MSP430 JTAG cable. I don't think that there is a need for a specific JTAG hardware, but some of the folks on the MSP430 Yahoo group think that the parallel-port JTAG interfaces works better than the TI USB interface. Check out the discussions on JTAG there before buying a cable.
