Hi,

I've been using Tmotes almost exclusively with TinyOS 2.x. As far as my
applications are concerned, LEDs, user button, external flash, default
sensors (temperature, voltage) as well as the optional sensors
(humidity, temperatures, solar irradiation) work fine for me. I managed
to read out the serial ID as well.

Personally I think that TinyOS 2.x has a better platform independent
interface. For instance radio communication works much better across
platforms than with TinyOS 1.x. The drawbacks are that some platforms
(ie. Tmote Invent) and some (of the xbow) sensor boards are not well or
not at all supported. While the new concept of TOSSIM 2.x looks very
promising (much more realistic simulation of the radio environment),
there are some features lacking (like the serial forwarder interface to
TOSSIM).

If you're doing practical implementations on Tmote Skys, I would
recommend TinyOS 2.x. If you do cross-platform implementations (for
instance on MicaZs and Tmote Skys) I would strongly recommend TinyOS 2.x.

Cheers,
Urs
