Is this on CC1000? There are some packet corruption issues on CC1000.

Can you expand on the "packet corruption issues"?

Kyle Jamieson (MIT) has noted that when running CTP he observes a large number (~1%) of corrupted packets that pass CRC. He saw abnormal patterns of 0x5555 such (alternative 1s and 0s). But this was about a year ago, and so may have been worked out. Basically, nobody is working hard on the CC1000 stack. Last I heard, Crossbow was thinking about discontinuing the mica2.
