Is it SerialForwarder that prints the "fail" message or the client that you use to send the message to SF?
If it's the client, perhaps you have the wrong MOTECOM setting. You can also eliminate SF and go directly from client to USB using the "serial@/dev/ttyUSB0:115200" MOTECOM setting.
