You can find a list of directories in the [platform]/.platform file
e.g., for mica2/.platform --
@commonplatforms = ("mica128", "mica", "avrmote");

And you can see what gets searched by adding a -v to the nesc command,
usually by putting it in PFLAGS in the makefile.
