Hi. I would like to set up a multihop, power efficient network with TinyOS. I have basic CTP working, but I would like to get answers to a few simple and general questions before I get in too deep.
1. It seems like CTP is the preferred system I should be using, since it has a TEP, but I also see mention of LQI. Is there a document somewhere that describes LQI? Should I be considering it at all? Are there other algorithms out there that I should be looking at? 2. I'm using the CC1000 radio, so I have RSSI measurements available to me. Looking at the LinkEstimator codes (le and 4bitle), it's not obvious to me that these are using RSSI. Should they be? Is this something that I should code up myself, or is there a fundamental reason that RSSI is not appropriate here? 3. My motes need to run off of a single battery charge for a very long time, so low power listening is very highly desireable. Reading the forum archives, it seems like CTP+LPL is not very thoroughly tested and that they don't play nice together currently. Is this correct? Are people achieving power efficiency through other ways? Is the right answer to write something myself? I appreciate any insight into these. Thanks a lot in advance.
