Is toscomm working for anyone using Ubuntu Hardy?

Running a command line like this:

   java net.tinyos.sf.SerialForwarder -comm serial@/dev/ttyUSB0:mica2

Gives me:

The toscomm JNI library was not found.
Check that your tinyos-tools package is installed and try
   rerunning tos-install-jni.
   Aborting.

Running tos-install-jni doesn't help (but it does put libtoscomm.so into
what looks like an appropriate directory for my JVM). My CLASSPATH is not
obviously bogus. Anyone know what I should try next? I have a very
similarly configured machine running Ubuntu Feisty and everything works
fine there.

Thanks,

John Regehr
