Dear all,

I'm trying to measure the batteries life time when using a TmoteSky
(telosb). I would like to know whether ours results are acceptable.

I used a modification of the Oscilloscope Application from TinyOS-1.x
so that we only measure Temperature, according to the following
characteristics:

1) Send 1 msg every 10 reading read (~1.2 sec);
2) each msg has 10 temperature readings;
3) Sampling interval 100 ms;
4) Packet length: 33bytes;
5) No power management was implemented;
6)Using tmotesky's default transmission power (we suppose its using
the Maximum);
7) Using 2 AA Alkaline batteries (Cbatt 2450 mAh).
8) As Base Station I have another TmoteSky using the TOSBase application.
9) environment's temperature was +- 25 Celsius.

I am using SerialForwarder in order to count the Packets Read.

According to my test I had the following results:

Battery Life time: 1h 40min

Receive packets: 4931

Somebody knows what are the parameters used for people who have reached
measure battery lifetime around 3 and 10 days?

and Somebody knows what is the maximum battery lifetime using oscope without
low power management?

Thank you very much,

Leah
