Everything is (im)possible with software...

I would go look at how that sensor is used on the telsob/tmote
platform and try to steal as much as possible. You may need to
invent some software-timer bit-bang to get it to talk, or you
might be able to use the second atmega serial port if you can
arbitrate with the radio.
