I'm not completely sure if i understand your question but since you asked about the sending range ( i believe you are talking about range up to which a signal can be sent which actually depends on signal strength) i experimented with it a little in one of my projects and i know that CC2420PacketC configuration file can be used to change this range. You can chose from minimum to maximum range which it divided on a 32 point scale 1 being lowest and 32 being higher. But as far as my experiment went i couldnt achieve a range higher then 75-100 m (not even this much) I am not very sure what you mean by sensing range.
