Hi, there I am wondering if someone here has scrutinized the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 annex E about the BER calculation P643. The BER formula is calculated based on incoherent M-ary orthogonal signal optimal receiver from Proakis (pp.465 8.1-17 4th edition). But the question is that 20 coefficient in front of *SINR *hunted me for a couple of days. why 20 not 8 which seems more reasonable.
Further, the IRIS use RF230 seems to be a coherent Tx/Rx (I'm not sure about the CC2420) and hard decision, am I right? (I'm not good at looking at the pratical block diagram) . The BER cannot be calculated based on the standard. Any reply is deeply appreciated. sincerely yours Peng
