Hi,

We're constructing a new mote platform based on the MSP430F5438
microcontroller from TI. Note that this is one of the newer chips in
the MSP430 series and support for it in mspgcc is still a little
sketchy. We are working through outstanding issues with the mspgcc
toolchain and can now compile TinyOS applications and load them onto
our mote via the BSL. However, due to the semi-closed nature of
msp43-gdbproxy, we are unable to support the mspgcc toolchain
components required for in-circuit debugging. Note that we have
engaged the mspgcc group and TI to try to resolve this problem, but we
expect that this will take some time.

In the interim we'd like to consider other strategies for debugging
TinyOS applications. Are there any recommendations? Can we use
TOSSIM for this?

Thanks much,
