Hi David,

I had initially installed Debian, now I have installed UBUNTU (Hardy)
and it seems to work fine for me now, I mean I can do "apt-get install
tinyos".... So I cannot really comment/help in solving your problem.

Regarding Vmware Workstation, my workplace has a Company license so I am
just using that license. I am just using the "Bridge" and it seems to
work fine for me, as in that I can "ping" the outside world.

Cheers,

Varun Jain

Subject: sudo apt-get problem

Hi Varun,

I am facing the same problem now and am eager to see the answer.

But I also have another question regarding VmWare Workstation
networking. This might not pertain to the general interests of the
community so I want to ask you separately.

I don't know if you bought the Workstation license but it's not free for
me. so I am using the 30day trial version. My problem is my Ubuntu guest
OS doesn't have any network connection. I tried to use "NAT" or "Bridge"
in the VM settings but none worked for me. Do you have any clue?

Thanks.

David
