Hmm, that's a tough one. My initial suspicion for this sort of thing is usually alignment bugs-- we've had some strange experiences and blip doesn't use nx types for portability, which leads to some problems. My only suggestion is to try getting debug messages (printfuart) to work and then tracing forward with that until you can isolate the line where it's failing.
Printfuart is pretty simple and might just work with a CFLAGS+=PRINTFUART_ENABLED in the makefile; it works only on msp-based platforms...
