Hi,
I was installing TinyOS-1.x on Ubuntu 7.10 when I encountered the
following problems:
1. I converted the
avr-insight-pre6.0cvs.tinyos-1.3.i386.rpm<http://webs.cs.berkeley.edu/tos/dist-1.1.0/tools/linux/avr-insight-pre6.0cvs.tinyos-1.3.i386.rpm>into
.deb using alien -d -c and then did dpkg -i avr-insight-.....deb.
However, it gave me the following errors:
*(Reading database ... 93081 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking avr-insight (from avr-insight_pre6.0cvs.tinyos-2.3_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing avr-insight_pre6.0cvs.tinyos-2.3_i386.deb
(--install):
trying to overwrite `/usr/local/share/locale/sv/LC_MESSAGES/opcodes.mo',
which is also in package avr-binutils
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
avr-insight_pre6.0cvs.tinyos-2.3_i386.deb
*How to rectify the above error?*
*2. I went ahead, ignoring the above error and installing other packages.
After I installed
tinyos-tools-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm<http://webs.cs.berkeley.edu/tos/dist-1.1.0/tinyos/linux/tinyos-tools-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm>,
I went on to install tinyos-1.1.0-1.noarch.rpm and it gave me the following
errors:
*(Reading database ... 93081 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace tinyos 1.1.0-2 (using tinyos_1.1.0-2_all.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement tinyos ...
Setting up tinyos (1.1.0-2) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/tinyos.postinst: 7: cannot create
/etc/profile.d/tinyos.sh: Directory nonexistent
.: 25: Can't open /etc/profile.d/tinyos.sh
dpkg: error processing tinyos (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
tinyos
*Is it a simple matter of creating the directory: /etc/profile.d ? Should it
already have been present?
