I'm sorry.  But I don't understand your question.  What does it mean to open
a file in nesc?

nesc is a front end to the C compiler.  You run a file through it to
generate executable code.
It is a translator/compiler for transforming source code into binary code
that can be executed
on a processor.

So what exactly are you trying to ask?
