Hi aldo .. Actually i came across similar problem when i tried to create new
script file ..

Which editor you are using ?
If you are saving file in DOS environment. then those error occurs  ..

bash: $'\r': command not found


Use any editor .. (i use ultraedit) and save that file in UNIX environment
..

when u create file in profile.d it is automatically "sourced" when u start
cygwin ..
i dont have deep knowledge of shell programming ..
i am advising you from my experience.

Thank you MS.I've just tried to edit the $home/.bashrc file... but with
errors when cygwin re-starts. The errors are like this:

bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found
bash: $'\r': command not found

sn...@aldo ~
$

It seems that bashrc don't want extra lines...

I don't know how to edit bashrc without return errors...
