Hi aldo .. Actually i came across similar problem when i tried to create new script file ..
Which editor you are using ? If you are saving file in DOS environment. then those error occurs .. bash: $'\r': command not found Use any editor .. (i use ultraedit) and save that file in UNIX environment .. when u create file in profile.d it is automatically "sourced" when u start cygwin .. i dont have deep knowledge of shell programming .. i am advising you from my experience. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you MS.I've just tried to edit the $home/.bashrc file... but with errors when cygwin re-starts.
