Ok. Things are working now, but I am not sure exactly why. I changed several things, so it could be any or all of them. Please try your luck. (1) Disabled ACPI support in VM. (2) Disabled USB 2.0 (EHCI) support. The Motes use USB 1.0 apparently. (3) Used a separate (external) 4-port Belkin USB hub. Has this something to do with the power/current ratings of the USB port on the MacBookPro? I used to have problems with my Bose companion 5 speakers sometimes. When connected to the Belkin, it was solved. (4) Connect the motes before starting VM and add the filters for the motes in the settings. (5) If the motes are unplugged and plugged after the VM has started, the filters may have to be deselected and selected once again.
