Hello..

That's a really interesting question. I have been wondering about the same
for quite some time. There has not been much work over WSN at our place. So
when I began with my project a couple of months back, I started with
tinyos-1.x as a few people who had worked over WSN suggested using it,
saying I would get some help from their experience.

We have micaz motes at our college. And as far as I know these support
tinyos-1.x. Please correct me if I am wrong.

It was only when I joined tinyos mailing list, thanks to the people here I
realized I am using an obsolete thing, I have upgraded to tinyos-1.15 and
also installed tinyos-2.x using VMWare player.
We are also working over getting Iris motes soon.

But I have been asked to work mainly over simulation work and that too
with GUI, since tinyos-2.x doesnt have something equivalent to tinyviz my
chances of switching over to 2.x faded away soon.

Or is it still suggested to use tinyos-2.x considering my work requirements?

I am glad that despite people not using 1.x much now, I found some people
who have been very supportive and helped me carry on. I owe a lot to people
here.

I really appreciate your concern to ask these questions. And I am all open
to suggestions from you/others.

Thanks...

Regards,
Kiraneet
