Dear all,

I wanted to ask a couple questions that are aimed at the same end. The
objective is to be able to localize mobile sensors when the come in the
hearing range of another sensor, for instance, the base station. This
is somehow intended for indoor location tracking. Then my questions are
the following

1) Is it possible to use TinyOS in order to estimate (with a low error,
ie. ~1 meter) the distance between two communicating nodes? My idea is
using round trip times but I don't know how accurate this could be due
to the processing time of the nodes.

2) Is it possible to reduce the transmission power of sensor nodes so
that only a node close can receive the signal? I thought this could
possibly be done with the LowPowerListening interface, but having a
quick look at the interface I only saw methods related to the duty cycle.

Any comments, suggestions or experiences are welcome
