Hello Daniel
Merry Christmas

I have seen the same problem but with other platforms. I have made tests
with tmotes and with meshbeans(like iris). The reason for me is in sending,
not receiving. In general LPL has no problem with packet loss. I am working
with LPL over versions tinyos 2.0 to 2.0.2 for almost 2 years. Packet loss
with LPL is almost 0. Let say on over 100K packets I have seen 73 lost for 8
months, in group of 4 motes and basestation with send interval 15 mins, but
with proper high level protocol, I managed to deliver the lost messages.
Since introduction of tinyos 2.1 I am trying to switch to using it. But no
success. I am having packet loss, the test locations are not having stable
communication. First I saw one small thing for fixing, which I reported to
the tinyos devel list - that there is no difference what you will set with
setRemoteWakeupInterval, because if you inspect the result code you will see
that in the send function it is called again (the setRemoteWakeupInterval)
with the default value. So you should define in the make file: CFLAGS +=
-DLPL_DEF_REMOTE_WAKEUP=1000 to setup the remote wakeup interval for now,
until this is fixed.
Additionally there is something, which could be like this on design, but is
still not described in TEPs. But there is no synchronization, and lI see
packet loss.

Hi all!

I wrote an aplication in TinyOS 2.1 under plataform Micaz and use Low Power
Listening. Simulating with Avrora this aplication I can observe many
messages are lost, many messages sent are not received for others motes. I
have some questions about the functioning LPL:

- What is the normal percentage of lost messages with LPL?
- If I use an interval of 4 seconds for monitoring , what is the optimal
Local Sleep Interval?
- How many nodes in the network are required for efficient LPL?

I hope be clear...

Thanks for your help.

Best regards!
