IIRC, the name TMote came about essentially for trademark issues. Because the
Telos designs were open, anyone could produce them and sell them as Telos
(e.g., as Crossbow, KET, etc. do). Moteiv wanted to distinguish their
particular iterations and improvements to the Telos design, so rebranded them
as TMotes.
